The Eastern Cape premier is approaching the high court to interdict President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Special Investigating Unit from probing allegations that he and others were fraudulently awarded postgraduate degrees by the University of Fort Hare.

The German government has ordered Russia to close four of its five existing consulates in the country by the end of 2023, and will close three of its four consulates in Russia, the latest in a tit-for-tat diplomatic row that is merely further isolating Russia.
